PostcardThis Year's Holokū BallSM Information

The Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu held its first Holokū BallSM nearly nine decades ago. It was chaired by renowned composer Mrs. Bina Mossman. Originally intended to showcase the beauty and style of the uniquely Hawaiian holokū in an elegant social setting, the Ball soon provided a wonderful opportunity for scholarship fundraising.

As part of the Holokū BallSM, HCCH honors individuals and/or organizations who are supportive of the Hawaiian community in promoting cultural events, music, art and dance.

Almost from its inception, proceeds from the Holokū BallSM (including the generous contributions of individuals and corporations), together with the interest accrued from special scholarship accounts, have provided funds for Hawaiian youth to pursue undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees at colleges and universities in Hawai'i and on the U.S. Mainland.

The Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu celebrates the legacy of Prince Kūhiō royal child of David Kahalepouli Pi'ikoi and Kekaulike Kinoiki II, and legacies of his ancestors reaching back to the Kumulipo. We celebrate all things Hawaiian, from our natural environment to our rich heritage, from the tangible to the intangible, from the profound to the inconspicuous.

*"Holokū BallSM" is a registered Service Mark and Trade Name
of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu.
